I haven't had much to say lately, as is obvious by my lack of posting, but I think I should try to keep up with it if anyone still reads. My family in Ontario would appreciate periodic updates, so I'm going to try to do better, especially with the changes coming to our family very soon. I'm now at 32 weeks. They did an ultrasound 2 weeks ago to check the placenta because at the 20 week ultrasound it was showing to be partially covering the cervix. If the placenta is fully covering the cervix at time of delivery the baby needs to be delivered by c-section. My doctor wasn't worried because it was only partially covering it, and he said that in most cases the placenta moves out of the way by itself. But they always have to check at another ultrasound, which is what they did at 30 weeks. The placenta has moved, so that is now not a concern. Also at that time they measured the baby as best they could and think that she's going to be a large baby, 9 lbs or so. Micah was 7lbs 8oz. Since Micah was delivered by cesarean because he didn't fit, the doctors are thinking I might want to consider doing another c-section. I had been hoping to do a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) but now I have more decisions to make. I may still try a vbac and if she has to be born by c-section, so be it. We'll see.
Micah had been in swim lessons and loving it. We are going on vacation to Chelan with David's family soon, so we're looking forward to swimming with him during the week. He's been doing a great job learning to swim, but he's still so little that he can't touch the bottom of the pool, so he gets a little scared when he's not near the wall or someone to hold onto. He'll be starting the summer swim schedule in July, which is four days a week. He loves having something to do every day. I've signed him up for preschool in the fall, too.
The weather has not been summery for us yet this year. We have had a few days here and there where it feels like summer might be coming, but most of the time it has been rainy and cold - in the 50s or low 60s most of the time. Today was finally nice - sunny and 70-something. Micah and I had a few errands to do in the morning and then we spent the afternoon working in the yard. We had been told by our HOA that we need to put plants in the front area between the sidewalk and the street. Originally the community had put in non-fruit bearing strawberry ground cover plants, but they were a pain. I think the HOA decided they didn't like them either because they have given everyone notices to pull them up and put plants there instead. So on Father's Day, David and his mom were out working on one of half of the area. Today, Micah and I were working on pulling the rest of the ground covering and turning the dirt so David could plant the rest of the flowers. It's pretty hard work with a big belly, but I love being outside on such a nice sunny day.
